Return and Refund Policy - Open Abayas

Thank you for shopping with Open Abayas. We strive to provide you with high-quality products, and your satisfaction is our top priority. If, for any reason, you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, we offer a straightforward return and refund policy to ensure your peace of mind. Please read our Terms and Conditions thoroughly before placing an order:

Return Policy:

  1. Eligibility for Returns:

    • To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused, in the same condition as received, and in its original packaging.
    • Any item(s) returned with damage caused by the buyer shall be returned to the buyer. 
    • Returns must be initiated within 14 days from the date of delivery.
    • Please ensure you have looked at the product description before placing your order.
    • Please do not return items without notifying us via email. It may not be eligible for a refund.
    • Please note we do not accept returns on sale or discounted items.
    • We accept returns within 14 days following the receipt of your order.
    • We reserve the right to refuse to refund items that are not returned within 14 days of receipt and in consent with our refund policy.
    • We will not accept returns outside of these time frames.
    • Any defects which include, marks, stains, damage or distinct smells on the items which suggest they have been worn, will mean that a return is NOT accepted.
    • Returned items must be unworn, untampered with and sent back inside the original packaging with tags/labels included (if applicable). This applies to our chiffon hijabs that are part of our abaya sets.
    • Any items returned to us not in its original condition or without its original packaging/labels (if applicable) or is dirty/stained or tampered with, or has signs of wear/odour/perfume, will NOT be eligible for a full item value refund.
  2. Non-Returnable Items:

    • Certain items are non-returnable, including gift cards, intimate or sanitary goods, and personalized items.
  3. Return Process:

    • To initiate a return, please contact our customer service team at to obtain a return authorization.
    • Clearly state your order number, the item(s) you wish to return, and the reason for the return.
    • Next, you will receive an email back explaining the returns process (we do not send out return labels).

  4. Shipping Costs:

    • Customers are responsible for the cost of return shipping unless the return is due to an error on our part.
  5. Refund Timeframe:

    • Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
    • If approved, your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your original method of payment within 7-10 working business days.

Refund Policy:

  1. Refund Eligibility:

    • Refunds are issued for eligible items returned in accordance with our return policy.
  2. Refund Processing:

    • Refunds are processed in the same form as the original payment method.
    • Please allow 7-10 working business days for the refund to reflect in your account.
    • We will send you a confirmation email indicating your refund has been processed.
    • The time it takes for you to receive your refund after it is processed depends on your payment facility. PayPal refunds will be made approximately within 3 – 4 working days.
    • Once the refund is approved, you will only be refunded for the product price and please note that we are unable to refund any shipping fees.
  3. Late or Missing Refunds:

    • If you haven’t received a refund within the specified timeframe, please check your bank account or contact your credit card company.
    • If the issue persists, contact us at for assistance.
    • Depending on how busy we are it may take up to 14 days to process your return from the day it is received back and during Ramadan it may take up to 21 days.
      Undelivered Items / Returned Parcels:
      If parcels are sent back to us, shipping/postage fees would have to be repaid in order to send out the parcel for the second time. Or Open Abayas will give an item value refund once the parcel is back in our possession.
    • Cancellations can be made within 24 hours of making an order provided that your order has not already been prepared, packed or dispatched within this time. You need to notify us of a cancellation via email to
    • Any later, or if the item/s have been prepared for dispatch, a cancellation will not be accepted. 
    • Tracking of Orders:
    • Tracking numbers and the name of the courier service will be provided to you upon dispatch. For Royal Mail deliveries, orders can be tracked directly via the Royal Mail Track and Trace service for UK shipping or via other courier tracking services for international deliveries.

      Undelivered Items / Returned Parcels:

      Faulty/damaged items:

    • At Open Abayas we carry out quality checks regularly on every item to ensure we do not send out faulty/damaged items.

    • Any items damaged in transit will need to be resolved with Royal Mail or the respective courier provider.

    • On rare occasions, when an item has freshly manufactured lace or embroidery work completed on it, there may be an odour. This is not a fault, you simply need to air the item for a while.

    • Similarly, if there are few loose threads that can be easily removed or slight variations in embroidery designs/placement as a result of batch restock, this cannot be considered a fault.

    • Occasionally, labels may be removed as the incorrect label is on the item. This is not a fault.

Exchange Policy:

At this time, we do not offer direct exchanges. If you wish to exchange an item, please follow the return process and place a new order for the desired item.

Simply you can put in another order for the item you want and return the original item (unworn, untampered, original packaging with tags/labels included) for a refund. This way you will not have to worry about stock availability nor include a pre-paid parcel bag. The refund will be issued once the original item is received and inspected (item value only).
